CNC waterjet cutting machine cuts items up to 6" thick from virtually any material. It can be configured for both abrasive waterjet cutting and water-only cutting (abrasive is added when cutting hard materials such as metals; soft materials such as foam can typically be cut with water only). It comes standard with a Jet Edge Eco-Jet direct drive pump, but can be upgraded to a hydraulic intensifier pump.
Waterjet cutting is a machining process. A high-pressure pump can pump up to 3 liters of water per minute through a 0.25 millimeter water nozzle. This creates a fine jet with extremely high energy density, which is perfect for cutting all kinds of materials.

A water jet might cut slightly slower than traditional thermal cutting methods, but when looking at the overall production cost, water jet has over and over came out as the most efficient cutting solution, simply because there is a set of obvious benefits
Smooth cutting edgeWith a precision of 0.1 millimeter, the surface can be made so smooth that there is no or very little need for additional processing.
No negative heat effectsWith the cold cutting method, the material will always keep its characteristics. No micro cracks, stress and hardened surfaces. Also eliminate impact by dust, toxic gases and deformation by slag and dross.
High-precision cutsThis aspect is best described in numbers: A pure water beam makes thin incisions of 0.1-0.25 mm. An Abrasive Water Jet makes 0.4-1 mm wide cuts, in up to 300 mm thick solids and with a tolerance of 0,025 mm. The FAWJ process on a WJS Micro abrasive machine makes a 0.2 mm incision at the extreme tolerance of 0.01 mm!
